What is Publishing?

Publishing is the activity of making information, such as literature and music, available to the public for sale or sometimes for free. Traditionally, the term refers to the creation and distribution of printed works, such as books, newspapers, and magazines. With the advent of digital information systems, the scope has expanded to include electronic publishing such as eBooks, academic journals, micro-publishing, websites, blogs, video games and so on.

What is 5T Publishing?

5T is a new publishing house that was launched in 2021 in South Manchester, England. We have an experienced team at the helm with the desire to go back to a more hands on approach with a return to the “essence” of publishing.
We have for over 30 years been responsible for the design, print and packaging of literally thousands of books, magazines, brochures, in fact all forms of printed literature.
We believe there is an urgent need for the selection of distinctive and unique manuscripts, displaying greater care at each step of the publishing process, and giving more support for authors. We are extremely proud that we have published 9 books so far, all of which have been produced with an energetic and creative flare. We can guarantee to our authors that all our books will be produced in this way.

5T offers a fully comprehensive service including, concept and design, artwork, imagery, packaging, print management, promotion, marketing and, of course, publishing. All our books will be ISBN registered and copies deposited with the British Library.
Traditionally publishers own all the rights to their authors work, however, 5T Publishing does not require ownership of the rights to their authors books – instead, if we feel the authors work has commercial merit, we work with them to help finance the project by splitting the production, print and publishing costs 50-50 between 5T and the author, and once all these costs have been recouped we split the profits, with the percentage agreed mutually.
It is a simple formula that has so far worked very successfully for our authors, and as a result everybody wins.
Historically, getting a book published has been extremely difficult, but 5T’s aim is to make the process much easier.
